Oh Yes Shankari,Vindaloo has now become synonymous with Indian cuisine. It is a speciality of Goa,India and we can guess,it is bz of the Portugese influence in Goa that we now have Vindaloo, only thing the dish has been altered with time!
Hi , Here is the etimology of the word from Webster. Main Entry: vin·da·loo Pronunciation: 'vin-d&-"lü Function: noun Etymology: probably from Konkani vindalu, from Indo-Portuguese (Portuguese creole of India) vinh d'alho, literally, wine of garlic, from Portuguese vinho de alho : a curried dish of Indian origin made with meat or shellfish, garlic, and wine or vinegar.
No matter who is responsible for this name, that dish sure is tasty. You have got nice blog here Sumi. Archana
