Pictures taken in Kollam(Quilon),Kerala

Kollam,one among the 14 districts in the state of Kerala is bound on the south by Thiruvananthapuram district, on the north by Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha, on the east by Tamil Nadu and on the west by the Arabian Sea.

The district is very famous for cashewnut processing and coir manufacturing.India’s most popular English magazine India Today has rated Kollam as the best district in the country in terms of law and order and social harmony.

Pictures below show the procession held during Chadayagosham (Chadayam day celebrations)marked to celebrate the birth anniversary of the sage and social reformer, Sree Narayana Guru.

Hi Sumitha,

Your photos are little but blended with day-to-day lives!! I like photos which speaks the real....veyr real life of common man. I have been to Kerala many times, being a TN resident, whenever my Abba got LTL, we wud spend our holidays in Kerala....and Kollam, TVN, Munaar are my favorites not to leave cochin....the photo and notes sent back my memories to childhood. Thanks!

This is the first time, me visiting here and loved it! Keep blogging and adding wonders to life!
